The feeding of the Pyrenean Desman (Galemys pyrenaicus) in Galicia (N.W. Spain) is described using the data obtained from the study of eight stomach and intestine contents. The Pyrenean Desman feeds mainly on the larvae stages of Ephemeroptera (35,8 % in terms of numerical frequence), Trichoptera (32 %), Diptera (24 %) and Plecoptera (4,3%). When prey volumes were taken into account, both Trichoptera (67,4%) and Ephemeroptera (20,7 %) were the most important groups into the diet. Some coments on the role of the Pyrenean Desman as a biological indicator of water quality is also added
